PERAN PANITIA PEMILIHAN KECAMATAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN PARTISIPASI MASYARAKAT PADA PEMILIHAN UMUM TAHUN 2024

This research aims to determine the role of the District Election Committee (PPK) in increasing voter participation in the 2024 Election in Sungai Aur District, West Pasaman Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that the role of PPK in increasing voter participation has not been optimal, as evidenced by the increase in the number of people who did not vote from 14.99% in the 2019 Election to 16.05% in the 2024 Election. Factors inhibiting PPK in increasing voter participation include, lack of understanding and public enthusiasm, skepticism towards the impact of participation, and the opinion that the election was dishonest. Busy work also reduces community participation. The supporting factors, namely, support and cooperation from Panwaslu, sub-district/Nagari officials, traditional institutions (ninik mamak), and community leaders have really helped PPK in holding the 2024 elections.
